The North East Karate Kai was setup by its Senior instructors in 2005, who are experienced teachers of Shotokan Karate and are full time school teachers in North East Secondary schools (see instructors for more details).

We are a member of The National Association of Karate and Martial Arts schools (NAKMAS) and abide by all the rules and regulations set out by them. Instructors are CRB Police checked, First Aid Qualified and parents are welcome to watch or train with their children.

We believe a great way to see your child develop is by training with them. Adults and children train together but are regularly separated to work with peers.

We welcome all students aged 6+

We aim to teach this traditional martial art to develop fitness, well being and and self discipline. We also aim to improve your self confidence and self esteem.
